Hypocrisy

My life was sealed in hypocrisy
My mind was faded and torn
My tears, so dry and abrasive
And anger so soft, and so warm

One half cried your name
The other for his touch
And live with a love so sublime
Or my life so real and so numb

So I stand here day by day
And lay here by night
To witness hopeless confusion
Too helpless, once more to fight

So you tell me I’m scum
Then show me how to move on
To rip my soul from these ashes
And delight in me coming undone

For this I cannot live alone
For this I cannot be without
For this I poured through this pain
To live a life more devout
