Windows: Space Invaders

Grade 12 Project, for Computer Science

Created by: Daniel Blanche

There isn’t much to say about this one. It was created as my first programming project back when I was 18. I hadn’t developed good code smells. It served its purpose of being a tool for learning. I can provide a binary of the game if anyone wants to take a look, but there isn’t much value to it.

I created the graphics in GIMP. The code was written entirely in Visual Basic. The game had a lot of limitations: for example, you were limited to 3 bullets at a time because I didn’t understand dynamically creating the lines; I would just reuse them. The code is also not optimized. Works well enough for what it was though – an experiment in learning how to program.
